All these inquiries, expert panels, Royal Commissions, reports, etc… must cost a pretty penny. It seems a shame they are ignored by the politicians who call for them. Apparently, their main purpose is to make it look as though politicians are concerned about issues they have no intention of acting on. It takes the heat off government too, as the news cycle rolls on and other issues emerge.

“Labor’s hand-picked panel of domestic violence experts say the government must pursue a total ban on gambling advertising and introduce stronger pokies regulation if it wants to get serious about protecting women, after community uproar over the spate of female killings earlier this year.

Tougher restrictions on alcohol sales and online delivery hours should also apply to the entire Australian population, not just Indigenous communities, given there is strong evidence that alcohol makes men’s violence against women more frequent and severe.” Albanese’s hand-picked domestic violence experts tell him to ban gambling ads | Natassia Chrysanthos | SMH

(Disability) Royal commission betrayed

The five-year $600 million Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability was established in 2019.

The Final Report, tabled on September 29 last year made 222 recommendations to change the outdated, segregated system that fostered exclusion, discrimination and abuse.

Senator Steele-John told Green Left: “It remains one of the biggest royal commissions in Australian history, where disabled people yet again gave so much of themselves.”

For decades the disability community had fought for recognition of the outrageous abuse and lack of supports they suffered.

Steele-John said “both Labor and Liberal had fought us every step of the way” as neither wanted to be held responsible for the disability sector’s problems.

“Some of us,” he said, “told our stories for the second, third and even fourth time … because we were promised that under Labor, this time would be different.” ‘Betrayal, failure and harm’: Jordan Steele-John blasts Labor over NDIS bill

The people who are in most need of assistance, do not get the results corporate donors achieve (with what is essentially bribery) to ensure personal access to ministers. Bribery underlined by those juicy sinecures politicians receive when they leave politics, a reward for their subservience to corporate agendas.

The unemployed betrayed

The government’s Economic Inclusion Advisory Committee has told it a substantial increase to JobSeeker and related payments should be a “first priority”. The committee sought analysis on the inflationary impact of their proposal, finding it would be “small to negligible”.

Here is one “expert” the government will not ignore

Zionist “antisemitism envoy” Jillian Segal: Australia just like Nazi Germany

“This will include a nationwide survey of non-Jewish Australians to gauge attitudes towards Jews and understanding of antisemitism.

This will see follow-up surveys conducted at 18 months and 3 years to measure progress.

Segal also wants to look at the legal framework around discrimination and hate speech laws.

“We have a lot of protections, but they’re not being used,” she said.

She also wants to develop educational programs for schools, and engage with universities to improve safety for Jewish students and academics.

Segal has already begun collecting personal stories of campus antisemitism. She also wants to work with businesses to implement training on antisemitism.

“A few weeks [ago] we had the Officeworks incident, where service was denied to a Jewish person, which has very unhappy reflections on what happened in Germany. But I think these can all be turned into opportunities for education,” said Segal.” – Segal lays out antisemitism road map | By Bruce Hill | Australian Jewish News

This absurd “faux antisemitism” appointment (during an Israeli Genocide) is just more of Labor’s subservience to Australian Zionists and Israel’s genocidal agenda. Clearly aimed at repressing news about Israel’s war crimes by weaponising “antisemitism” and attacking the reputations and livelihoods of anyone who speaks out about them.Labor’s ‘special envoy’ to promote racism and genocide | Josh Lees | Red Flag

Rather than the group providing “genuine opportunities to contribute and lead on the agenda important to [them]”, this member said they felt like “another cog in the machine”, with their mandate being to “help the government meet their targets”. – Why would anyone join a youth advisory group on climate change? | | Crikey
